Description:The Russian/Bodega WMA includes the Russian River and Bodega Bay hydrologic units including the Bodega Harbor, Salmon, Americano, and Stemple Creek watersheds and the tributaries to the Russian River.
The Russian River watershed encompasses 1,485 square miles.It supports gravel mining, viticulture, orchards and other agricultural crops, as well as silviculture. The Russian River is the most populous watershed in the North Coast, and includes the urban centers of Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Sebastopol, Windsor, Healdsburg and Cloverdale.The Russian River supplies drinking water for over 600,000 people in the North Bay area; a portion of this water is supplied through a diversion from the Eel River.The Bodega watershed contains three Critical Coastal Areas: Estero Americano, Estero de San Antonio, and Bodega Marine Life Refuge.
Salmonids: Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha), coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) and steelhead trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
